Powder Coating

Powder coating is a coating that is applied as a free-flowing dry powder. It offers several advantages over traditional paint: it is less harmful to the environment, produces a much thicker coating without running or sagging, and allows for overspray to be recycled. Additionally, powder coating can achieve a wide range of special effects that are impossible with other coating processes.

Shot Blasting & Stripping

Once the metal has been stripped, it is ready for shot blasting, a crucial preparatory step to ensure the best surface adhesion for powder coating and other painting or spraying processes. This technique involves firing abrasive particles at the metal under compressed air pressure, removing surface contaminants and rust to produce a superior quality finish.

Masking & Preparation

At Bournes, we meticulously mask and plug any holes, threads, or surfaces as specified by our clients, saving them time and effort. For alloy wheels, we repair small dents, chips, scuffs, and marks, restoring them to near-perfect condition.
